How Deichmann gained structured HR processes with a platform approach

Deichmann is active in the retail sector, specializing in shoes, and was founded in 1913 in Germany. The company is now present in over 30 countries and employs approximately 48,000 people worldwide.

In this client case, we interviewed Denise Hallbäck, HR Manager at Deichmann, about their experience with the Talentech platform.

Deichmann began using Talentech’s recruitment system in 2018, mainly due to significant growth in Sweden and Denmark. At the same time, GDPR came into effect, which meant Deichmann needed to improve their processes and recruitment strategy. In Germany, Deichmann used a different recruitment system, which was relatively cumbersome, making Talentech’s platform a good fit for the Swedish and Danish parts of the company, given their size.

 

Talentech’s HR system gave Deichmann the opportunity to become a pilot customer. The main reason Deichmann wanted the tool was that they were looking for a seamless product that connects all aspects of HR. Until then, Deichmann had no system that could process all employee data efficiently and user-friendly.

In addition, with Talentech’s recruitment system, Deichmann can quickly import data in an efficient way. The tool makes it possible to continuously improve the recruitment process and take it to the next level. The system provides a simple, visual overview, and all Talentech products are connected with each other.

Deichmann’s journey went from a lack of structure to a completely different situation. The company was dealing with complex processes and inefficient systems, which made the processes time-consuming and required a lot of manual effort.

Ease of use is crucial because it naturally creates opportunities for exchange between managers and HR. The entire recruitment process can be managed within the system, providing a clear, visual overview of where you are at any point in the process.

The HR tool gives better control over data, especially when it comes to key metrics. For the HR department, it’s easy to find the right data in the tool, which is extremely important. This makes it possible to support other departments and implement various strategies across the company.

The recruitment analytics tool has revolutionized Deichmann’s recruitment process by bringing together data from multiple systems and measuring its effectiveness. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of where Deichmann is visible and identifying the best channels for advertising. It also allows for analyzing data from a gender equality perspective using demographic charts. The ability to assess recruitment efforts through the tool enables HR to naturally evaluate results together with hiring managers.

Flexibility is the greatest advantage of Talentech’s products. Deichmann values the fact that the systems communicate with each other and that the ease of use is so clear. The latter is especially important when you are part of a group where you want to involve managers, making it not just a system for HR, but a system for the entire company.

Both from a financial perspective and regarding GDPR, everything now feels much more secure.

In addition, Deichmann has greatly benefited from the developments Talentech has made over the past few years. Even though Talentech has large clients and complex systems, it still feels like the employees are down-to-earth and fully engaged in their conversations with us, Denise concludes.
